Overview

As exemplified by the new Mobacas*1 broadcasting service for mobile terminals that began in April 2012, services that are not bound by the form of conventional TV broadcasting hold promise as a means of future distributing diverse types of content, such as comics, novels, music and games. This technology includes metadata management technology that provides unified management of information about that diverse content (metadata) and distributes metadata according to broadcasting and marketing schedules. It also includes license management technology for handling diverse content marketing models that assume broadcast pay-per-view and use in a mobile environment.

Features

  • Can manage diverse metadata, such as coupons (metadata management).
  • Can accommodate a diverse service menu, including broadcast pay-per-view etc. (license management).
  • Handles marketing models that assume a mobile environment in which there are frequent changes in the terminals from changes in type of hardware (license management).
  • Conforms to the ARIB*2 standard broadcasting specifications for Japan (metadata management and license management).

Application scenarios

  • The Mobacas service offers an electronic program guide (EPG) and an electronic content guide (ECG).
  • License management in the Mobacas service
