The NTT Group is keenly aware of its corporate social responsibility(CSR)in pursuing its businesses. As a leader in the telecommunications industry, the CSR of the NTT Group is to provide reliable, high-quality services that contribute to the creation of a safe, secure and prosperous society that serves people, communities and the global environment through communications.
To fulfill the Group's CSR, we believe it is important to promote environmental conservation and social action programs, including various volunteer activities, to meet the expectations of our stakeholders, while securing the soundness of our business activities that support those efforts.
To maximize the richness of our society in various respects, the NTT Group intends to extend coordinated efforts to carry out our CSR under four themes around the keyword communication.
As part of the efforts for one of its CSR themes—"Communication between people and the global environment," the NTT Group is preparing to introduce 5-MW-scale solar energy systems by 2012 and newly establish NTT Green LLP to expand the use of solar energy systems and other natural energy within the NTT Group.
The NTT Group has introduced a 1.8-MW-scale natural energy generation system at 112 locations. Aiming to expand the scale up to 5 MW, we plan to introduce solar energy systems at the NTT Group's research centers and laboratories, business-use buildings such as communication centers and the data centers of each NTT Group company.
To promote the introduction of solar energy systems within the NTT Group, we have established NTT Green LLP in which each Group company will invest to ensure aggressive introduction of solar energy systems. In the future, we will consider further expansion of the use of the solar energy systems and other natural energy outside the Group.
