Business Trends

Given the increasing sophistication and diversification of needs in information communications, NTT East is committed to further developing broadband business services, including optical access and the Next-Generation Network(NGN), and promoting system integration-based solutions business for municipalities and education.

  • Proactive development of optical-centered broadband business

    1. (1) Attractive services for customers that ensure safety, security and convenience

      NTT East is aggressively committed to disseminating optical access services with which customers can enjoy a variety of services such as high-speed Internet, video content(e.g., viewing via terrestrial digital broadcasting) and connection with game consoles.

      NTT East offers the "FLET'S Hikari Next" and "B FLET'S" optical access services, which enable high-speed and large-capacity Internet connections. You can choose your favorite service from numerous providers. Using either the "FLET'S Hikari Next" or "B FLET'S," the "Hikari Denwa" system, which is available at lower calling rates compared with conventional subscription telephones and mobile phones without changing telephone numbers, offers rich additional services. NTT East offers video content (e.g., "FLET'S TEREBI," "SKY Perfect TV! HIKARI," "GyaO NEXT" and "Hikari TV")available with the "FLET'S Hikari Next" or “B FLET'S”service system and in alliance with other companies.
    2. (2) Speedy response to customers

      NTT East has established a system to immediately inform customers of their installation date when they apply for the "FLET'S Hikari Next" or "B FLET'S" and has reinforced the system for weekend ordering and installation to shorten the period until the start of service. The company also reinforced the "Hikari Support Center" to improve services and respond more quickly to customers' inquiries.

    3. (3) Expansion of service area

      NTT East strives to expand its service area in line with demand from municipalities and community residents to allow more people to use optical-centered broadband services. In sparsely populated regions where the digital divide needs to be overcome, NTT East is striving to supplythe "FLET'S Hikari Next" or "B FLET'S" optical access service more widely through tie-ups with municipalities.

  • Deployment of business solutions

    • As a community-based, integrated ICT solution partner, NTT East supplies one-stop solutions, including network services such as "Business Ether" and "B FLET'S," as well as "NGN," "BCP" and "CRM," which cover services from consulting to maintenance, by catering to managerial issues and/or the requests of customers according to the type of business in which they are engaged.
    • For small and medium-sized customers, NTT East assists them in achieving enhanced operational efficiency in offices and cost reductions through the combination of the "FLET'S Hikari Next," "B FLET'S," "Hikari Denwa Office Type," "Business Phone" and "FLET'S VPN."
  • Efforts for security and safety

    Measures to deal with disasters

    Enabling communications during emergencies and disasters such as earthquakes is crucial. To ensure that communication services can be used as an important lifeline at any time, NTT East strives to reinforce emergency countermeasures by offering "Disaster Emergency Message Dial 171" and "Broadband Disaster Emergency Message Board 171(web 171)" as well as deploying various kinds of equipment for communications during disasters.
