Business Trends

The NTT Communications Group has developed customer-first management and service offerings toward the achievement of the "Business Vision 2010," the Group's new growth strategy formulated in November 2006. Its initiatives are compliant with NTT's corporate mission statement: "To become a highly trusted company that contributes to a flourishing society and safe and comfortable lifestyles as a partner that bridges today and tomorrow." As an "ICT Solution Partner," the company's growth strategy is based on the seven core values of "Solutions," "Network Management," "Security," "Global," "Ubiquitous," "Portal/Engine" and "Managed Quality Operation."

  • Corporate business: ICT Solution Partner

The Group has streamlined its corporate sales system by business type and industry and enhanced its corporate business promotion system with measures such as the reinforcement of the SE function. The Group intends to be a trustworthy partner to which our corporate customers can entrust their operations related to ICT(Information and Communication Technology) without anxiety through consulting sales that offer high-value-added solutions focusing on managerial issues to meet diversifying customer needs. In close collaboration with the NTT Group companies, the NTT Communications Group supports corporate customers in enhancing their competitiveness by supplying them with the latest one-stop ICS solutions such as the FMC(Fixed Mobile Convergence) for corporations, the SaaS(Software as a Service) and data centers, as well as the conventional network and server operations.

  • Net business: "CreativE-Life" for Everyone

Under the unified branding of "CreativE-Life" for Everyone, the NTT Communications Group strives for the quick and one-stop supply of ISP services such as OCN and Plala, 050 IP telephone services, content distribution services and CGM(Consumer Generated Media) services such as blogs and SNS(Social Networking Service). As one of Japan's largest ISP groups, boasting subscriptions of more than seven million members in total for OCN and Plala, the NTT Communications Group develops the steady expansion of business by leveraging group strengths against a backdrop of enriched service content, including "goo," and a powerful customer base. The Group will further offer attractive customer-oriented services through the expansion of the video communications business including NTT Plala's "Hikari TV," and the development of leading-edge ubiquitous broadband services as the growth engine of 20 million subscriptions for the NTT Group.

  • Global business

The NTT Communications Group has reinforced its high-value-added service promotion system with the construction of the HSCS(Hokkaido-Sakhalin Cable System), which connects Japan's Hokkaido and Russia's Sakhalin regions via telecommunications cables, and the opening of premium data centers. The Group actively promotes business expansion to supply Japanese and foreign-affiliated companies with high-value-added global services at its overseas bases located in 50 cities of 21 countries(as of July 7, 2008). The provision of such integrated services includes network integration taking advantage of the Group's possession of one of the world's largest Tier 1 IP backbones, as well as data centers, enhanced security and server management. These initiatives resulted in such internationally recognized performance as the No.1 award in a customer satisfaction survey conducted by British Telemark Services Ltd. in 2008 that evaluated eight global telecommunications carriers. The Group will expand its overseas bases and service areas in a timely way while offering seamless global services between Japan and overseas.
