Shinagawa Season Terrace
Area Value Creation and Urban Revitalization
- Shinagawa Season Terrace is a large-scale public-private sector development project, carried out by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and four private enterprises, including NTT Urban Development Corporation of the NTT Group, and taking advantage of Japan's multi-level city planning.
- Making effective use of space above a wastewater reclamation center, a greenery area of 3.5 hectares was built. The complex uses renewable energy from sun, wind, and water, and includes heat supply facilities that take advantage of the temperature differential of wastewater heat. In these and other ways, it is a model "ecological infrastructure" for designing sustainable cities.
- Boasting one of the most advanced seismic isolation structures in Japan, the facility is designed for greater safety, and supports business continuity planning in preparation for wide-area power outages and water shutoff due to a major disaster. These features enable business activities to be carried out in peace of mind.
