We also believe that citizenship activities help to foster a broader worldview and consideration for others, and NTT Group companies accordingly endeavor to give full support to employee citizenship efforts.

Citizenship activities policy formulated
In May 2008, NTT Urban Development drew up and announced a Citizenship Activities Policy to serve as a guideline for the implementation of its citizenship activities.

Ikimono Johokan website launched
NTT DATA created a user participation site called Ikimono Johokan (= "Living World Information Depot" [in Japanese only]) in support of the Nature Conservation Society of Japan's goal to preserve ecosystems and biodiversity, and build a sustainable society. The site was donated to the Conservation Society in March 2009.

"Please Call" notebooks for people with disabilities
NTT East and NTT West have distributed "Please Call" notebooks since 1983 to help people with hearing or speech impairments to make phone calls when outside the home.

Continuing a program that began in 1998, in December 2008 employees of NTT West visited children's homes in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and distributed Christmas presents.

Dispatching staff to Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers
