Editorial Notes

During fiscal 2007, the NTT Group established the NTT Group CSR Charter to provide fundamental guidelines to enable better implementation of its CSR activities. In our CSR Report, we report on the various CSR activities that we have been implementing under this Charter during fiscal 2011 with the aim of promoting even closer communication with our stakeholders.

The Special Features present topics that demonstrate how NTT Group companies are leveraging ICT to address social issues. Special Feature I takes a look at initiatives from around the world, and also features excerpts from a roundtable videoconference between key people in NTT Group companies based in China. Special Feature II introduces key examples of NTT Group research and development initiatives aimed at resolving energy and environmental issues. It also presents a talk between an eminent journalist and the NTT Group director in charge of R&D initiatives.

This report is organized into four sections according to the four goals of the NTT Group CSR Charter — communication between people and their communities, communication between people and the global environment, safe and secure communication, and Team NTT communication. In each section, we report on topics that will most interest stakeholders, and on the key CSR activities of group companies.
