Prevention of Global Warming

Greenhouse gas emissions other than CO2 ( CO2 equivalent )
This is a graph showing non-CO2 greenhouse gas emissions (converted into tons of CO2) over the past four years. Such emissions for fiscal 2007 amounted to 5,826 tons of CO2.
Electric power consumption
This is a graph showing electric power consumption over the past five years. Electric power consumption for fiscal 2007 was 8.742 billion kilowatt-hours.
Clean energy generation
This is a graph showing amount of clean energy generated over the past five years. Clean energy generated during fiscal 2007 amounted to 5.063 million kilowatt-hours.
Number of clean energy generators
This is a graph showing the number of clean energy generators in operation over the past five years. 155 such generators were in operation in fiscal 2007.
Number of low-emission company vehicles
This is a graph showing the number of low-emission vehicles owned by the NTT Group over the past five years. 603 vehicles were owned in fiscal 2007.
Fuel consumption by company-owned vehicles
This is a graph showing the amount of fuel used by NTT Group vehicles over the past five years. 31,000 kiloliters of gasoline and diesel were used in fiscal 2007.

Waste Reduction

Waste and soil displaced from construction sites
This is a graph showing the amount of waste and soil displaced from construction sites over the past five years. 229,000 tons of construction waste were generated in fiscal 2007, 216,000 tons of which were recycled.
Waste and soil displaced from civil engineering works
This is a graph showing the amount of waste and soil displaced from civil engineering works over the past five years. 147,000 tons of civil engineering waste were generated in fiscal 2007, 141,000 tons of which were recycled.
Office waste
This is a graph showing the amount of office waste generated over the past five years. A total of 53,000 tons of office waste was generated in fiscal 2007, 29,000 tons of which was recycled. As a result of an 11,000 ton reduction in office waste, final disposal waste was reduced to 13,000 tons.
Medical waste
This is a graph showing medical waste generated over the past five years. 649 tons of infectious medical waste and 1,045 tons of non-infectious medical waste were generated in fiscal 2007.

Amount and percentage of old telephone directories recycled
This is a graph showing amount and percentage of old telephone directories recycled over the past five years. 38,000 tons of old directories were recycled in fiscal 2007, representing 64.3% of all directories distributed.

Asbestos removed from NTT Group facilities
This is a graph showing asbestos removed from NTT Group facilities over the past five years. 309 tons were removed in fiscal 2007.
Amount of specified halon held for fire extinguishing equipment
This is a graph showing the amount of specified halon for fire extinguishing equipment over the past five years. 826.8 tons were held in fiscal 2007.
Amount of specified chlorofluorocarbons used in air conditioning equipment
This is a graph showing the amount of specified chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) used in air conditioning over the past five years. 17.24 tons were used in fiscal 2007.
Number of centrifugal chillers ( that use CFCs ) and number of units removed
This is a graph showing the number of centrifugal chillers (that use CFCs) and number removed over the past five years. Three units were removed and 46 units remained in fiscal 2007.

This is a graph showing the number of recycling boxes installed and amount of confidential documents collected over the past five years. 7,486 boxes were in operation and 12,165 tons of confidential documents were collected in fiscal 2007.
Participants in "Operation Clean Environment" litter cleanup events
This is a graph showing the number of "Operation Clean Environment" litter cleanup events participants over the past five years. There were 66,075 participants in fiscal 2007.
