Up to now

  • Power consumption has grown with the deployment of broadband communications equipment in recent years, but this raises concern that the whole system could suddenly fail if a problem happens.
  • Must ensure stable power supply even for equipment that consumes a lot of power.

At the NTT

We have committed R&D to the development of a power supply system that delivers a constant stable supply of power even to broadband communications equipment installed in buildings.


As communications equipment has increased in speed and scale, dealing with potential problems-short circuits, oscillations, and inrush current etc.-has become an urgent concern. To address these risks, we developed a technology that quickly isolates and detaches the defective system with a short circuit or other fault before the problem affects other equipment, and ways to ensure that power supply conditions are precisely followed so oscillations and inrush current never occur. This power supply system has already been installed in some NTT communications buildings and has proven remarkably efficient for delivering a stable DC power supply to support communications network backbones.
