NTTis... Spring 2010

Summary of Financial Results for the Nine Months Ended December 31, 2009

  • Consolidated operating revenues decreased ¥208.7 billion (2.7%) from the same period in the previous fiscal year to ¥7,525.7 billion.
Although IP-related revenues grew as a result of an increase in FLET'S Hikari subscriptions and other factors, consolidated operating revenues decreased due to a decline in fixed voice-related revenues and a decline in mobile voice-related revenues and handset sales revenues caused by the penetration of new mobile handset purchase methods.
  • Consolidated operating expenses declined ¥142.3 billion (2.1%) from the same period in the previous fiscal year to ¥6,577.6 billion.
Despite an increase in personnel costs due to an increase in the amortization of actuarial loss in pension programs, consolidated operating expenses declined as a result of a decrease in mobile handset costs and in depreciation and amortization expenses attributable to the fact that accelerated depreciation of NTT DOCOMO's mova-related assets had been carried out in the three-month period ended December 31, 2008.
  • Consolidated operating income declined ¥66.4 billion (6.5%) from the same period in the previous fiscal year to ¥948.1 billion.
