NTT Group began conducting “Education Square × (By) ICT” field trials in the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012 as a precedent initiative to accumulate know-how on the use of ICT in the area of education for use in future business development.

The trials seek to create new educational environments using ICT, such as the educational cloud, networks, digital course materials and tablet computers, ten public elementary and junior high schools in five local government districts in Japan.  We will work to establish and expand this initiative over the next three years in order to contribute to the meaningful use of ICT at educational sites.

NTT Group is conducting the trials independently as a private enterprise while taking into account, and making use of the results of, measures by the national government to encourage the use of ICT in public education.
