Private cloud infrastructure “Lindacloud”

In addition to its existing system integration business, which focuses on software, NTT DATA has been promoting its “Lindacloud” business with the aim of decreasing environmental impact through deployment of environmentally friendly hardware.
“Lindacloud” is a private cloud infrastructure, a uniquely developed hardware designed specifically for power saving and low heat emissions, with pre-installed software depending on its intended use.Since its launch in November 9, 2010, customers have valued the “easy to deploy,” “good for power saving and space-saving,” and “reassuring in case of malfunction” features of the service.
Going forward, NTT Group will further enhance its lineup of products that enable the storage, high-speed search and analysis of big data* that is generated in conjunction with the growth of the cloud at low cost, and will continue to provide new value to customers.

Lindacloud Wins “the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Minister’s Award” in “Green IT Awards 2011”

“the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Minister’s Award” in “Green IT Awards 2011”

On October 3, 2011, “Lindacloud” won the “Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Minister’s Award” in the “Energy Saving Division of the Green IT Award 2011” sponsored by the Green IT Promotion Council.
The Green IT Award is awarded to IT equipment, software, services, and solutions with excellent energy-saving effects, or initiatives that accomplish energy-saving effects by utilizing such IT equipment, software, services or solutions.
“Lindacloud” was recognized for its uniqueness, including its “think-outside-the-box design to meet customers' needs,” “simple and clear-cut product image with a focus on a specific use and required function,” and “design for reducing not only power consumption, but also the power required for server cooling.”

Increase in subscriptions of “Xi” (crossy)® next-generation high speed communications
Toward Further Enhancement of Coverage Areas and Services

Expanding the coverage area nationwide in FY2011. Further expansion of Xi.

Changes in Xi subscriptions

“Xi (crossy),” a next generation communication LTE*1 service from NTT DOCOMO, features high-speed communications at a maximum downlink speed of 75Mbps,*2 and can be used the same way as FOMA even outside of the Xi service area, as long as the user is within a FOMA service area.Since its launch in December 2010, Xi subscriptions have steadily increased to approximately 1.14 million (as of the end of December 2011).With respect to the expansion of the coverage area, as of the end of December, the number of base stations had reached approximately 5,000 (roughly 24% coverage of the population), and the Xi service area will be expanded to all 47 prefectures in Japan during FY2011.Further, NTT DOCOMO plans to increase the number of base stations to approximately 21,000 (roughly 70% coverage of the population) by the end of FY2012.

Appealing billing plans/discount services for the expansion of “Xi” services

“Xi Talk 24,” offering free unlimited domestic calls 24 hours a day

NTT DOCOMO is offering “Xi Talk 24,” which provides free unlimited domestic calls 24 hours a day between NTT DOCOMO users.
The number of “Xi Talk 24” subscribers reached approximately 80% of the total number of “Xi” plan subscribers (as of the end of December 2011)

“Xi Start Campaign” with Discount on Monthly Charges

Current discount campaign under which monthly charges for “Xi Packet Flat-Rate” service or “Xi Data Plan” is capped at 1,575 yen through the end of April 2012, and monthly charges starting from May 2012 are discounted to 1,050 yen (through the end of September 2012).

“Xi (crossy) 2 Discount Campaign” for Second Terminal

Current discount campaign under which Xi smartphone subscribers who use a Xi tablet as their second terminal receive a discounted monthly charge of 2,980 yen for the “Xi Data Plan Ninen” (regular monthly charge of 5,985 yen), and a discounted monthly charge of 3,980 yen for Xi data communications terminal. (The application period is through the end of March 2013.)
