Summary of Consolidated Financial Results for the Fiscal Year Ended March 31, 2012

“Growth in both operating revenue and operating income for two consecutive years”

  • Operating revenue increased 202.4 billion yen, or 2.0%, from the prior fiscal year, to 10,507.4 billion yen
    • While voice related services revenue decreased, system integration revenue, with a focus on overseas sales, increased.
  • Operating expenses increased 194.3 billion yen, or 2.1%, from the prior fiscal year, to 9,284.4 billion yen
  • Operating income increased 8.1 billion yen, or 0.7%, from the prior fiscal year, to 1,223.0 billion yen
    • While operating revenues of NTT East and NTT West decreased, operating revenues of NTT DOCOMO and NTT Communications increased.
  • Net income decreased 41.9 billion yen, or 8.2%, from the prior fiscal year, to 467.7 billion yen
    • While net income decreased due to Corporate Tax reforms, the net income exceeded the forecast (465.0 billion yen) as a result of the improvements in the area of other income (expense).
