NTT holds its general meetings of shareholders in June each year.
These Shareholders' Meetings are held for the purpose of having shareholders decide important matters affecting the company.
Normally, resolutions made at these meetings cover the Company's appropriations of retained earnings and appointment of officers, but resolutions are also necessary for matters such as amendments to the Company's articles of incorporation and large-scale business transfers.
To exercise voting rights at these meetings it is necessary to have been a shareholder on the date of record. In NTT's case that means shareholders whose names are entered in the register of shareholders as of March 31.
Shareholders who are unable to attend a shareholders' meeting are able to exercise their voting rights either by using the printed form sent by NTT or via the Internet.
