Tree and flower planting and wildlife protection activities

The various social activities that receive the corporate support of the NTT Group are designed to take advantage of the special characteristics of the particular regions in which they take place.

Contributions to the Fund for the Creation of People's Forests
(Hokkaido Branch,NTT EAST)
Each year, prize money from company contests and proceeds from charity events are contributed to the Fund for the Creation of People's Forests.

 NTT EAST Roadside Cherry Trees
(Hokkaido Branch,NTT EAST)
A 700-meter stretch of road was planted with Ezo wild cherry trees to beautify the town and leave a legacy for future generations.

 NTT EAST employees volunteer to plant trees and flowers and to protect wildlife.

Transplanting wild grasses in the mountains
(Toyama Branch,NTT WEST)
The town of Asahi serves as the entry way to mountain-climbing paths leading to Mount Asahi and Mount Shiratori, which are treasure houses of highland plant species. In cooperation with Nippon Public Telephone Association, NTT WEST employees work to transplant wild grasses back in the mountains.

 Supporting the maintenance of Dragonfly Natural Park

NTT WEST employees work with local residents to maintain Dragonfly Natural Park, the largest preserve of its kind in Japan, by pulling weeds, building ponds, keeping the wetlands clean, and installing direction signs.

Operation Clean Environment

 Settsu-Kyo clean-up activities

In 1988, groups of people identifying themselves as "young monitors" began independent clean-up activities in certain regions of the country. Today, environmental clean-up efforts have grown into a nationwide movement.

"Clean the Japan Sea" Project
(Niigata Branch,NTT EAST)
All branch offices in Niigata Prefecture work in cooperation with local residents to clean up trash left by bathers on Japan Sea beaches.

 Kushiro Wetlands Clean-Up Movement
(Hokkaido Branch,NTT EAST)
NTT EAST employees are engaged in clean-up efforts in areas surrounding the Kushiro wetlands, which are listed in the Ramsar Convention, in order to preserve this natural resource.

 Maruko River Clean-Up
(Akita Branch,NTT EAST)
NTT EAST employees participate in clean-up activities sponsored by "the Maruko River Beautification Association."

 Operation Clean Ibaraki

All branch offices in Ibaraki Prefecture provide volunteers to help clean parks, tourist attractions, and roadways.

 Clean-up Activities in the Settsu-kyo

NTT WEST employees participate in a clean-up campaign in the Settsu-kyo dry river bed in cooperation with Takatsuki City's Zero Trash Movement.

 Kimotsuki River Clean-Up

NTT WEST employees participate in a clean-up campaign for the Kimotsuki River sponsored by the local youth center in early July, before summer vacation.

 Inagenohama Clean-up Campaign

The Inagenohama Clean-up Campaign takes place every year, under the slogan "Protect the Beautiful Nature and Environment of Chiba Prefecture".

 Tatebayashi Scenic Sights and Ruins Clean-up
(Gunma Branch,NTT EAST)
When the tourist season is over in Tsutsujigaoka Park, NTT EAST employees collect waste around the scenic sights and ruins of Tatebayashi every year.
