Visiting the Yokosuka R&D Center

The Yokosuka R&D Center has a hillside location in the center of the Miura Peninsula, overlooking the ocean on three sides. It faces Tokyo Bay to the east, where passenger ships and tankers can be seen making their way slowly up and down the Uraga waterway. To the west, the Center faces Sagami Bay, where clear winter days offer exquisite views of Mt. Fuji across the Bay, bathed in the light of the setting sun.

●Getting there

* From YRP Nobi Station on the Keikyu railway line, board a bus bound either for "Tsushin Kenkyusho [Communication Laboratories]" or "Yokosuka Shimin Byoin [Yokosuka Municipal Hospital]" and get off at the "Tsushin Kenkyusho [Communication Laboratories]" stop (about 10 minutes from the station), which is right in front of the Center. Taxis also are available in front of the station.
*ake a taxi from Kurihama Station on the JR Yokosuka railway line or from Keikyu Kurihama Station on the Keikyu railway line (about 20 minutes).
*By car, drive on the Yokohama Yokosuka Road to the Kinugasa Interchange exit and proceed toward Misakiguchi (about 10 minutes from the exit).

Visiting the Musashino R&D Center

The Musashino R&D Center is located in the center of Musashino City, an area with lush greenery. Boasting the longest history of any of NTT's R&D Centers, Musashino R&D Center was established in 1949 on the grounds of the former Nakajima Aircraft Industries Ltd. A new 12-story main building, featuring the latest in multimedia technology, was opened in October 1999.

●Getting there

From the bus terminal at the North Exit of Mitaka Station on the JR Chuo railway line:

*Board a bus bound either for Kitaura or Musashiseki, and get off at the stop in front of the Musashino City Office [Musashino Shiyakusho-mae], which is five minutes on foot from the R&D Center.
*Board a bus bound either for Higashi Fushimi or Yanagisawa Station, and get off at the Musashino Jutaku-mae stop, which is five minutes on foot from the R&D Center.
*Board a bus bound for Denki Tsushin Kenkyusho [Telecommunication Laboratories] and get off at the Kenkyusho Seimon-mae stop directly in front of the R&D Center. All the above bus rides take approximately 15 minutes from Mitaka Station.
