In the frequency domain, correct perception of the original pattern implies selective extraction of the original signal by a filter. (C) For a symmetric filtering window, the upper recovering limit is the Nyquist spatial frequency (dashed lines). In contrast, for an asymmetric window, there is no such a limit. The use of an asymmetric window implies direction-selective filtering. |
