NTT To Participate in ASIA TELECOM97
Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) announced today that it will be an exhibitor at ASIA TELECOM97, Asia's largest telecommunications exhibition, at the World Trade Center in Singapore from June 9th to 14th.The exhibit will promote greater awareness of NTT's extensive capabilities, ranging from developing telecommunications infrastructure to providing multimedia and global network services throughout Asia.
This will be the fourth holding of ASIA TELECOM, which has been held every four years since 1985 under the sponsorship of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Approximately 500 companies centering on the world's major carriers will display exhibits for an audience expected to reach 30,000.
Reflecting NTT's growing involvement with global telecommunications, the corporation's exhibit at ASIA TELECOM97 will feature technologies for global communications, multimedia communications systems, optical-access networks an d the Personal Handyphone System (PHS) for mobile communications (see attachment). NTT will also conduct an interactive demonstration of visual-data communications using a direct connection between Singapore and Tokyo.
