NTT Signs Agreement at Asian Multimedia Forum in Singapore
Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) today signed an agreement to form the Asian Multimedia Forum (AMF) with other telecommunication companies in Asia at the inaugural meeting held in Singapore.Prior to the meeting, the board members were elected and NTT President Junichiro Miyazu was appointed the first chairman of the AMF. In addition, the AMF Secretarial Office was established in the NTT International Affairs Headquarters.
Since the official announcement of the joint preliminary call for participation on January 29 this year, NTT has been working together with the other members to establish the AMF. Today's agreement was signed by 17 founding members - 13 original members in January plus 4 new companies. NTT will cooperate with the other members to promote AMF activities through NTT's multimedia-related telecommunications technologies and know-how. At the AMF Secretarial Office, NTT will contribute to the smooth operation of the AMF while assisting the other members.
