NTT Nagano Olympic Plaza Opening Ceremony on February 5
Advanced telecommunication technologies that will be used on a test basis during the Nagano Olympic Winter Games courtesy of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT), a Gold Sponsor of the Games, will be exhibited at the NTT Nanase Media Plaza between 9:30 am to 11:30 am from Friday, February 6 to Thursday, February 12 (excluding the 8th and the 9th). Opening ceremony will be held on Thursday, February 5.The NTT Nagano Olympic Plaza exhibit will present an arrange of NTT technologies that will be used by the NAOC, such as wristwatch-sized PHS mobile phone handsets, MiMie compact earphone-typed microphone/receiver unit and the PHS Multimedia Communication System for simultaneous transmission of voice and multimedia via PHS (mobile phone). NTT will also exhibit card-type IrDA Public Telephones that will be provided for the press, and other technologies for images, the Internet and mobile communication.
