Subsidiary of NTT America, Inc. Files FCC Section 214 Applications for Facilities-Based Telecommunications Services Authorization to Japan


  ntta.com,inc.,(ntta.com) a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTT America, Inc. has applied today to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for authority to provide facilities-based telecommunications services between the United States and Japan, under Section 214 of the Communications Act of 1934.

  ntta.com has already obtained the authority to provide telecommunications services between the United States and other countries except Japan and Sri Lanka, and to provide leased line resale services between the United States and Japan.

  With the authority sought in today's application and with tie-ups with NTT group companies and other carriers, ntta.com will be able to provide telecommunications services such as facilities-based leased line services and frame relay services to multinational corporations and telecommunications carriers to and from the United States.

  With the above services, NTT America hopes to introduce new competition into the market using an innovative approach to achieve higher quality services at affordable prices.
