August 26, 1998NTT to Hold Interconnections Seminar in the U.S.
Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) and NTT America, Inc., a U.S. subsidiary, will jointly hold a "Seminar on Interconnections in Japan" in Washington D.C. this early October.The seminar's aim is to encourage mutual participation in the Japan and U.S. markets by introducing the structure and current situation of Japan's telecommunications network interconnections and promoting a better understanding of progress made in the opening up of the Japanese telecommunications market.
As a telecommunications operator itself, NTT feels that by explaining its views directly to government-related officials and telecommunications carriers in the U.S. it can serve the interests of both the U.S. and Japan, and hopes that this seminar will help further the development of both countries' telecommunications markets.
