Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) today submitted for authorization by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications a plan to provide 30% discount for the TeleChoice and INS TeleChoice services, which are already in operation, and a plan to include a toll-free service in the discount service of the TeleWise Wide service.
1. New TeleChoice 30 Service
TeleChoice is a monthly discount service whereby the customer pays a fixed monthly fee and receives a fixed-rate discount on long-distance calls made to specific city codes that have been designated beforehand, regardless of when the calls are made. At present, NTT provides a discount plan of 10% and 15% for telephones and ISDN, but will now offer a new and more user-friendly plan, TeleChoice 30 and INS TeleChoice 30, with a 30% discount on telephone charges to one city code in the case of telephone, and to two city codes in the case of ISDN.

The service will be started soon after receipt of approval from the Minister of MPT, which is expected at the beginning of November.
2. Expansion of Discounts on Telephone Calls with TeleWise Wide
TeleWise Wide is a monthly long-distance fixed-rate discount service available at all times, in which a corporate customer pays a fixed fee for long-distance calls via the group of circuits designated by him in advance. NTT plans to expand the scope of the TeleWise service by including a toll-free service in the discount service if requested by the customer.
Both the monthly fixed fee and discounts are the same as in the present TeleWise Wide service.
