Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) will alter its organizational structure in part to verify and establish the firm's business operation system after it is reorganized.Establishment of Provisional Headquarters
NTT will establish a provisional headquarters for each of the four companies it is planning to set up as a result of its reorganization. NTT is doing this in order to ensure smooth business operations during the transition period and pursue the verification and establishment of each company's operational structure. The four headquarters will be known as NTT-Holding Provisional Headquarters, NTT-East Provisional Headquarters, NTT-West Provisional Headquarters and NTT-Long Distance and Global Provisional Headquarters.
Establishment of Corporate Strategy Planning Office, Reorganization Office and Transitional Accounts Office
The work of the Board of Directors as well as operations related to reorganization and general accounting tasks, must be carried out by NTT on a unified basis as one company during the transition. The Corporate Strategy Planning Office, Reorganization Office and Transitional Accounts Office will be established as a staff division under the president.
Abolishment of Headquarter Offices and Departments, Branch Office Sectors
As a result of the establishment of the provisional headquarters, each office and department within the headquarters and each sector of the branch offices will be abolished. However, the Auditor's Office will remain.
The changes will be implemented from January 25, 1999.
