NTT Submits Revised Articles of Interconnection Agreement
to MPT Minister for Authorization

NTT has been promoting interconnection with other carriers by drafting the new Articles concerning procedures, charges and technical requirements based on the Basic Rules for Interconnection, which were incorporated into the revised Telecommunications Business Law enacted in November 1997. The corporation submitted a plan for initial revision of the Articles in January 1998, which was approved in March 1998.

The latest revisions enable NTT to provide names and addresses on NTT's contracting parties to deemed carriers to agreement using NTT's new information system.

NTT plans to implement the new revisions soon after receiving the Minister's authorization.
