(NTT do Brazil), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT based in and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, announced that the NTT Group will add Brazil to the service area of its Arcstar Managed Frame Relay and Arcstar Managed Bandwidth Services from June 16, 1999. As a result, the NTT group will be able to connect Brazil with other countries and areas already provided with the two services.
The two services are made possible by a special license called Limitados Especializado Licence*1. The license enables service provision for corporate users and was obtained by NTT do Brazil on December 31, 1998. NTT do Brazil will solely manage the new business, which will provide end-to-end high-quality services.
With the provision of Arcstar Services in Brazil, the NTT group's Arcstar's global service area has expanded to 18 countries and areas.

*1 Limitados Especializado License: A license which permits provision of telecommunications services by establishing a telecommunications network solely for corporate users and provides services only within the user network (the license does not allow provision of public network service). With this license, provision of international and domestic leased-line services, and international and domestic frame-relay services is possible.
