Senior Vice President, NTT Information Network Laboratory Group
Information Network Laboratory Group is working to develop innovative technologies that will drive digital innovation by always envisioning a future network that is one step ahead in order to realize a network that will continue to be chosen by customers and business partners. The Group is composed of the following Laboratories:
Network Technology Laboratories
Research and development of network architecture, communication quality optimization technologies, and environmental impact reduction technologies, and energy management technologies, etc
Network Service Systems Laboratories
Research and development of new network services and the network system platforms underpinning those services
Access Network Service Systems Laboratories
Research and development of new access services and access system platforms underpinning those services
The roles that communication network played thus far were to connect people, and to deliver various information to customers by connecting information and people. However, future networks will need to contribute to the development of society as a whole by creating new added value that goes beyond existing industrial structures. This is achieved by optimally linking all kinds of goods and services.
In order to meet above expectations, the Information Network Laboratory Group will promote the change of network infrastructure from electronic to all photonics to maximize the potential of information communication services based on the "IOWN(Innovative Optical and Wireless Network)" concept. In addition, we are developing the flexible information network to realize "Cognitive Foundation", which provides speedy service provision and value chain optimization. This contributes to solving problems by promoting collaboration with
advanced technologies such as AI and quantum communication, and collaborating with the cloud application layer.
We will carry out our daily tasks in research and development-armed with a keen awareness of the responsibility to carve out the future society with our own hands, buoyed by the pride and joy of creating technologies that are actually implemented in society, and inspired by our big dreams for the future.
