In the IoT era, in which everythings are connected on communication networks, threat of cyber attacks is not limited to IT systems (virtual space). It also directly affects real society (physical space) in which we live, threatening the loss of life and property. In this theme, we are conducting research on technologies to prevent, detect and respond such attacks. Specifically, we are engaged in developing technologies for the field of next-generation automotive, such as connected cars and self-driving cars, and for the field of industrial control systems (ICS), such as plant facility control systems. We are also studying on hardware security technologies, such as measures against side-channel attacks to microprocessors, that are commonly required regardless of specific fields.
