- Design and analysis of next-generation symmetric-key encryption algorithms
We conduct R&D on next-generation block ciphers that overcome the current trade-offs between security and efficiency and also on their modes of operation. In particular, we focus on lightweight ciphers which will be necessary in the IoT era, as well as on tweakable block ciphers which are a relatively new type of symmetric-key primitives. We also study block cipher modes of operation that are quantum computing resistant.

We conduct R&D on next-generation advanced public-key cryptosystems.
In particular, we focus on advanced cryptography, such as obfuscation, functional encryption, and two-party and multi-party computation.
